Plymouth Meeting, PA, January 11, 2017 – Adaptive Digital Technologies’ (Adaptive Digital) High Definition Acoustic Echo Canceller (HD AECTM) handles extraordinary echoic challenges and delivers exceptional voice quality. HD AEC is a complex algorithm which includes noise reduction (NR), as well as anti-howling, adaptive filtering, nonlinear processing, microphone selection, gain and microphone equalization, automatic gain control and double-talk detection. The HD AEC algorithm eliminates acoustic echo in difficult conditions such as unbalanced speech levels, close speaker to mic proximity, background noise, wind noise, double talk, and echo path changes.
Adaptive Digital’s HD AEC – C5517 DSP Intercom Solution includes digital microphone (DM) conversion software which converts a PDM (Pulse Density Modulated) microphone signal into a PCM (Pulse Code Modulated) signal. The HD AEC – C5517 DSP supports 2 modes: Dual microphone or Single Microphone. The HD AEC-C5517 is a high definition voice quality wideband (WB) solution.
Adaptive Digital’s HD AEC Intercom software product provides superior voice clarity and true full duplex performance enabling simultaneous communication with no delay under a wide range of acoustic environments for both outdoor and indoor applications. Adaptive Digital uses a proprietary fast converging adaptive filter, and non-linear processor to deliver robust double talk performance even in unpredictable outdoor conditions. In addition to the HD-AEC algorithm, the Adaptive Digital Intercom solution provides a framework that interfaces 3 – I2S peripherals and SPI for host communication. The complete set of APIs allow the developer to command the DSP to configure, download, and run from a host processor.
The full-featured HD AEC Intercom Solution runs on a fixed-point Texas Instruments (TI’s) C5517 Digital Signal Processor (DSP) product and is designed for low active and standby power consumption. The C5517 DSP is a highly- integrated solution offered in a simple package to reduce cost and development time. “C5517 DSP is ultra-low power and easy-to-use, making it a target processor for applications based on audio pre-processing,” said John Smrstik, marketing manager, TI processors. “ADT’s HD AEC is a strong algorithm that is a perfect combination with C5517 DSPs to solve acoustic echo for end applications such as intercoms and conferencing equipments.”
The C5517 DSP doubles the performance of previous generations of ultra-low power DSP devices while delivering power optimization to support longer battery life. The C5517 DSP is ideal for voice and audio based applications including voice recognition and audio processing, as well as medical, and non-video intercom applications.
The C5517 DSP delivers high-performance and an expanded peripheral set at low power to meet the needs of audio applications enabling original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original-design manufacturers (ODMs) to quickly bring their product to market.
Equipment manufacturers can differentiate their next gen offering by integrating Adaptive Digital’s HD
